Default Need an answer please

Hey been looking over the forums for a while and thought i'd join now that i bought a 2000 Honda civic si with 167k on it.

i want to go register it tomorrow and have everything else needed but the safety certificate, the lady that sold me the car got it saftied 4 days ago and they took it so i'm wondering if i go to register it will it be on file and i won't need the physical copy?

also yay idle problems that night after i get it home. stays around 1500 even when driving sometimes bounces between 1500-2000 or 1200-1500 any suggestions on this as well would be appreciated.

i'm from ontario canada

Not sure how it works in canada, sorry.

In the states you need to register the car in your name which is different than renewing the registration. You will pay basically a purchase fee tax and the registration fee or road tax fee will still roll over from the old registration. In my case here in Texas I would pay a 6 percent sales tax on the purchase price, and if the registration was expired I would pay an extra $40

IIRC, in Ontario you will need to bring a copy of the safety cert with you. http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/vehicle/used.shtml#safety

So much red tape in that province.

You definitely need a copy of the certification to transfer ownership. Sorry I'm so late to the thread
