Default XM Antenna fixable??

i broke my xm antenna (i pulled on it a bit to hard when it was really hot out) and now i'm screwed. i'm wondering if these things are fixable or am i going to have to replace the whole thing??

i've tried just wraping it together and i still get an antenna error when i turn it on...are these antenna's fiber optic?? someone told me he thought they were.

No they are not fiber optic. The wire is a small gauge coaxial cable...

What exactly broke?

I used to sell "extra" antennas on ebay for like $25-30...

Dunno... I f you can splice it back together while insulating the center conductor from the outside shield, it might work, however, it may create too much of a loss and you still may not get any reception...

i stripped it down yesterday and wrapped it together and got nothing so i took the antenna part itself apart and i'm thinking if i take out the old piece and solder in the other wire it may work again

it broke not 3 feet from teh antenna itself so i've got tonns of wire left to work with

No, you don't have tons of wire to work with. The length of the wire is critical to the reception.

We consider them unfixable. You can buy a replacement xm antenna by itself.
