Default Worth re-wiring components?

I had the door panels off my 95 GS-R today to get them redone and noticed I have Alpine Type R components up front. There's no amp and they're just running off the stock wiring. The woofer is hooked up straight from the factory wiring, and the tweeter input from the stock wiring is running to the component box "input" and out to the tweeter from the tweeter output on the component box. The woofer output on the component box doesn't have anything hooked up to it. I have an extra amp and was wondering if it would be worth re-wiring. I have a newer Alpine deck, and Type S speakers in the rear. I'll soon be adding a 10" Kicker in the rear in a custom fiberglass box. Thanks

Hmm, any idea the wattage these speakers run? I'm pushing 40 RMS on some Pioneers against stock wiring and it seems to work out okay. But, if you're doing something ridiculous like 100 it may be worth it to get into the wiring loom and run some legitimate speaker wire.

Thing is, it'd be a pain to do cleanly (to get wires into the door panel), so have patience.

sounds like they are wired wrong to begin with.

The input on the crossover should be where the factory wiring goes to then from there the tweeter to the tweeter and woofer to the woofer.

Right now you are sending full range sound to the woofer which it isnt meant to do. and an amp will give you more power and clearer sound.
I say if you have a 4 ch. amp then go for it. you have nothing to lose as long as it is a good amp. and you dont really need to run more wires to the door if you dont want to. you wont notice the difference if you do but you might feel better. I personally did in my car but have done hunderds of 4 ch. amps useing the factory wiring.

It's only a 2 channel amp. Is that a no-go? I'm obviously not an audio guy. If I can't use the amp it sounds like I should at least wire up the tweeter and woofer correctly. Also will dynamatting just around the speaker do any good to cut down on door rattles, or do I really need to do the entire door? I'm not a rap listener, mailyl pop/punk/emo, but as I said earlier, I will be adding a 10" Kicker I already have to fill in the low bass. Thanks again.
