Default Will this setup work out nice in my Jeep?

I used to own a 97 civic and never got around to getting my system set up because I sold it. I now own a 96 Jeep grand cherokee limited and know that it's going to take alot more juice to make my system louder than the civic.

I don't want to listen to Death defying loud pounding in my car, but would like the peice of mind knowing that if I ever want to crank the loudness up, that it will be there. For everyday use though, I just want some louder base. My main concern is if you think my future setup below will be "enough" to make my jeep sound good.

I already have an infiniti sound system in the car so do you think I should still upgrade the speakers?

Alpine CDA-9833 Headunit
SPR136A 5-1/4" Type-R Component 2-way FRONT speakers
SPR694A 6x9 Type-R Coazial 2-way REAR speakers
SWR-1241D (2) 12" Type-R Subwoofers (4ohm + 4ohm)
or do you think 1 is enough?
I have no idea what kind of amp I should be looking at.
If you guys think I only need 1 12" type R to bump my jeep, then what amp would you reccomend?

What Kind of amp should I be looking at?Mono Amp, 2-Channel Amp, or Mulit-Channel Amps?

Feel free to give me any comments/sugestions because I am not at all an expert on car audio. Thanks guys for you help.

Yes, replace that factory stuff. Factory systems always suck, no matter what nametag they glue onto the speaker grills.

As for the rest, I can't really help you. Its all a matter of opinion. I suggest you listen to other systems and see what you like.

<also has a jeep, 95 to be exact and i have 2 15 kicker L7's and its death defying loud

one 15 l7 would be perfect in my opinion, as i was driving around with just one 15 for awhile til i got my 2nd l7.

im also running the kicker sx1250.1 amp. great combo for the l7('s)

I used to have a grand cherokee, and trust me, the stock speakers are actually the best I've ever heard in a car [well mine had the upgraded sound system from the factory]

2 12 type r's should be great, a friend of mine had both in his pathfinder and he was ridiculously loud when he wanted to be...clean too

thanks for the comments guys. That's the exact information i needed. So I'll probably end up getting an amp first, then the subs, then speakers last since the infinnity gold system will work for a while. So here's the revised version-What do you guys think?

I'm still confused on this OHM stuff...And I was told that if I get my component speakers, then I should get a 4 way amp??This amp stuff is really confusing me. Can someone clear this up?Because I'm getting the idea that I need to get a 4 way amp to power my speakers in my car and get another 1000w amp just for the subs.??Is this true??

Alpine 9833
1000Watt Amp to push the 2 12's.
1 ALpine Type-R 12" sub.
Component Speakers

I think you'd get better results if you went with type-X components up front and leave the rears stock.

class D mono for the sub or subs and a 2 channel amp for the fronts. you can run the rears off the HU.

awesome info! Thanks man. Just curious, why would you recommend the type x's over the type r's?Thanks. I kinda want the rears to sound good to though for the passengers. Will they still sound nice just running off the headunit and not a 4way amp? Thanks.

Well i would recommend the type-x over the type-R simply because they're better speakers and you woudl still be in the same price range if you skipped out on the rears. They X crossover has so many options as far as adjustability and levels

you could do a 4 channel amp and it would sound better but you're also looking at more money with that route. It would be a bit better but i think the front stage would overpower the backs and sitting in the front i doubt you'd notice a difference.

Awesome. Thanks for the help man, much appreciated. I'll probably look into getting the type x front components with a nice 2 way amp. What kinda wattage should I be looking at the push the front components?

that would depend on how much money you have to spend on an amp really. I'm giving mine about 130rms a side. i'd say anythign around 75-100 should be more than enough.
