Default Where should I mount the amp? How do I tune it?

In the trunk or under the seat?

Its a low profile Orion 300D. Fits well under the passenger seat (partly removed already). What is better? I would think that if its under the seat, it won't be stolen as easy/fast?

Its a 2 dr Prelude

Another question, how do I tune the amp? It says to adjust the crossovers to match the subwoofers (Kaption CL - FS of 37.5 Hz). How do I set the proper gains? Is there an article/complete guide on this topic?

Do I connect the Front or Rear Preamp to the subwoofer amplifier?

I agree, under the seat, here is the install/setup guide for the 3000 series Orion amps... http://www.directeddealers.com...4.pdf

I would also like more info on the sub, is it SVC or DVC, and what is the continuous power handling , [RMS power] of the sub?

The Orion 300D is a 1x175W RMS into 4 ohms @ 13.8V, 250W into 2 ohms and 300W into 1 ohm. 94

DVC 4 ohm - wired to 2 OHM

300W RMS, 600W Max

Do I use F or R pre-amps?

[parallel the VCs = 2 ohms and wire the speakers in series = 4 ohms or series the VCs = 8 ohms and parallel the speakers = 4 ohms] 16 ohms, [wire the VCs in series = 8 ohms and wire the speakers in series = 16 ohms] there is no way to get a 2 ohm load with 2 DVC 4 ohm speakers.

With that said if you parallel the VCs and the speakers you will get a 1 ohm load and the amp will make 300W RMS into a 1 ohm load, however it is only 50% of what the subs need.

If the HU does not have a sub output you can use the front or rear preamp output for the sub amp.

Sorry, my bad with the pearl.

It is 1 sub, how do I set the crossovers (low/high).

Side-note: Thanks for the previous help with the deck, it finally works! Wasn't so hard... although I had to tap from ignition to get ACC and Constant. The brand new 10 gauge wiring kit from CarDomain was damaged!!

I'd use the rear RCAs for the subs, so it feels more natural to use the fade adjustment to adjust your subwoofer.

Mounting under the seat is great for anti-theft, 1) because a thief would need a 12mm and a 14mm wrench to get it out (if your car is like my Prelude) and 2) it can be totally concealed in a place where thieves are unlikely to look.
But be careful of how much clearance you have. When someone sits in the passenger seat, the seat will sag underneath. You don't want it to put too much pressure on the amp.
