Default What could it be?

So i was trying to connect my radio in my car.
I have never done it before so if i made some stupid mistakes or something im sorry lol.

Anyways so my cars radio wires had a like a wiring harness connected to them, i cut the head off and my radios wiring harness plug too. i tried connecting my radio by matching the wires. when i was finished the radio wont turn on. i checked the fuses and they seemed fine. i tried checking if the wires of my car had electricity by using a piece of metal and it seemed like they didn't what could be the problem? am i connecting my radio wrong?

First of all using a metal piece to check if you power or not is not smart. Invest into a voltmeter or borrow one.
You might wired it the wrong way. Stock wire colors are little bit different from aftermarket head units. I would see if you can find a diagram that came with the harness on the unit. I take it you are trying to install aftermarket unit in your car right?
Use diagram or look one up online and use voltmeter to connect everything together. If you can snap a picture it would be nice.

MM&Y of car would help, as would the make and model of the HU, [radio].

As mentioned, wire colors for OEM HUs are not the same as aftermarket HUs.

tyou can find wire colors here for your car... http://www.installdr.com/QuickWiring.asp and what they match up to on aftermarket HUs. 94
