Aight, I just neatened up my alarm install a little bit, and i was taking pics for my buddy ray to show him how to install his alarm on his prelude, i know all the colors for the factory wiring, but i can't remember the DEI color codes... if someone can refresh my memory that'd be great.... i'm gonna take a shot at it
i know Lock/Unlock - Green/Blue
12v - Red
Ignition - Yellow
Parking Lights - White
But what is green? for the love of god i can't remember

GREEN IS DOOR TRIGGER

Saw your other write ups...

The DEI wires are now considered Industry Standard, being shared by (as far as I know) Alpine, Clifford, and Autopage. It'll be good to remember the colors.

Primary Harness, 12-Pin Connector
orange - (-) 500 mA Armed Output
white - (+)/(-) Selectable Light Flash Output
white/blue - (-) 200 mA Channel 3 Programmable Output
black/white - (-) 200 mA Domelight Supervision Output
green - (-) Door Trigger Input, Zone 3
blue - (-) Instant Trigger Input, Zone 1
violet - (+) Door Trigger Input, Zone 3
black - (-) Chassis Ground Input
yellow - (+) Switched Ignition Input, Zone 5
brown - (+) Siren Output
red - (+) Constant Power Input
red/white - (-) 200 mA Channel 2 Output

Harness 2, (+/-) Door Lock Outputs
green - (-) Lock, (+) Unlock Output
blue - (-) Unlock, (+) Lock Output

Pre-Wired Starter Kill Relay for Hondas
green - To Key
black - To Starter Motor
orange - w/1N4004 Diode to Orange (-) When Armed Ouput

Keep up the good work

Not to pick on you...but I thought DEI etched ALL of the cases ( not the early ones)
with the wiring diagrams on its back ( Ie the brain box) I guess I'll have to check
one when I go in in the morning.

No harm no foul though....I'm one of the good guys

Not everyone's got a handy brain lying around with the color codes etched in it. Sometimes you'll have the brain already strapped up and you'll need to alter wiring. When that happens, you should know the colors by heart.

So true...but here a lil advice from a grizzled vet ( 20 yrs and counting )

1. bench prewire always.
2. plan for upgrades
3. develop your own wire codes. ( if anyones hears an installer mubbling
"red light/green light" while doing doorlocks...I apologize )

Have fun

What I meant was... my customers bring in vehicles with work done by another shop. When we diagnose problems, we work through it with the provided layout. Thats when knowing the colors will help the most. Anyways... you know what I mean.
