I installed the 5501 in my 96 ek coupe what I can't figure out is why my alarm is not triggered when the doors are opened and the system is armed. If I have the door open and try to arm the system it will show on the screen. I am also having issues with thee shock sensor I was told that the sensor is built in to the system but every time I try to adjust it is not found.

 

Did you get the Viper 5501 from an authorized DEI dealer?94

 

bought it off ebay refurbished
..starting to think it is defective

Viper makes a pretty good product.
Don't buy Viper from unauthorized dealers, you never know what you will get.

Lol I know viper makes some decent products, I'm just biased towards Compustar

 

he is a private seller no returms accepted im going to hqve to contact PayPal see if there is anything they can do.

That freaking sucks. I might be able to fix the board if its damaged. If you can't get your $$ back take the board out and look at it
