Default URGENT! Installing speakers

I just tore apart my door and...I'm confused.

I was expecting to have just speaker wire and that it'd be all simple...but it isn't.

I've got 4 wires running into a wiring harness to my stock mids, and 2 wires into a harness for my tweeters. I need to wire these to a single positive and negative input terminal on my new crossover. Is it possible to use the stock wiring?? If so...how?

By the way I do have an aftermarket head unit, and the shop installed it.

Any insights would be very much appreciated...

I think I know what you are talking about. I believe the tweeter and mid are wired in parallel...the tweeter wires branch off from the mid's harness at the modular connection point inside the door if I remember right.

I bought a speaker harness with the rectangular connector on 1 end and 2 conductors on the other. The rectangular modular part is connected to the stock wiring. I connected the 2 leads to the crossover input for my aftermarket speakers. I used the stock wiring for the front speakers because I think rewiring is too much of a task.

Yep, that's exactly right. I actually figured that out right after posting this...I just checked my helm's for the wiring diagram. I can't believe I didn't think to do that before...

Anyway, I just ran the crossover for the new speakers off the tweeter leads and ignored the wiring for the stock mids. I figure it should work fine..

Anyway, thanks
