tweaters to speakers???
ok ive got a 97 integra and its wired for tweaters but i dont have them so im wondering can i just splice in some real speakers or would they be to big for the amps or whatever.
ok so i just wired it up and ive found that it works fine but found that it rattles when not placeing slight pressure on both sides of the actual speakers part so im gonna need to find a way to replicate that after i mount it. idk how im gunna do that though so any advice would be awesome

You're in essence bridging the rear channels on the deck, which, in time, will cause them (and possibly the fronts) to cease to operate.

It is indeed ghetto. You've installed speakers that were NEVER a factory sized speaker, and you've installed two additional speakers where there were not speakers before. All running off a deck that wasn't designed to power six speakers.
That, my newb friend, is backyard, side-alley, 100% ghetto.

You stereo is built to work with a certain load, or resistance. When you add speakers you change that load/resistance. If you install them in series (+to+-+-to-) then the resistance will increase. If you install them in parallel (+to++ and -to--) then the resistance will decrease.

no ghetto would be if they were house speakers duck taped onto the ceiling. this is 100% soild with nothing visible at all. maybe you think its ghetto because i used my ingenuity and free time to acually do sumthing myself and not take it to bestbuy. All no is it works fine and sounds great and my deck is in need of replacement anyway.

why will it damage your deck or your spare deck?
wiring in series probably won't cause a problem but the effect is reduction in power to each speaker. I would also be interested to know about the crossover to the stock tweeters....there has to be some crossover else they'd be getting notes across the spectrum so if you connected a pair of full-range speakers or any non-tweeter the crossover would only send high frequencies to these speakers even though they could handle a variety of frequencies.
wiring in parallel probably would cause you some problems because your deck would run fairly hot if running in, for instance, 2 ohms and with no cooling and in that tight spot...not good.
also remember that basically no one competing in SQ competitions since late 80's/early 90's uses rear speakers for midrange and high frequencies
come to this board with an open mind and realize there's people on this board who've been into car/home audio for well over 2-3 decades. Something tells me you're too young to even remember Car Stereo Review or legendary cars like the speakerworks buick, 1kw beetle, inferra's crx, kimura's legend, etc.
trust me on this.....I built my first set of home speakers when I was 12, just about finished with my truck install and kept every issue of Car Stereo Review, Stereo Review and Stereophile for the better part of 5 years in the early 80's and read every single article every single month and tried to learn everything I could. I'm sure the people who received my Readers Service Cards with requests for every single manufacturer's product catalog loved me but again something tells me you have no idea what a Reader Service Card even is. When people like b18 or fcm speak you need to listen. period. these are probably the 2 most knowledgeable people on this board in regards to audio.
