Too big a battery?
just wondering is there a such a thing as too powerful a battery
I'm not talking like a 14.4 volt one, but in the optima lineup for instance, if I get a larger battery then reccomended is there anyway I could harm my car
the one that optima reccomends is a yellowtop for the stock location, but I have a trunk box and battery relocation kit and I'm wondering shouldn't I just put the biggest battery I can buy in there?
let me know if there's any harm in that, or if too much is a bad thing
thanks in advance

If you mean bigger battery as in, larger capacity, meaning has more storage power, then it won't hurt the car. You'll be able to put on a dance club for a few hours with a higher capacity battery.
I have a system, 2 amps, sub all speakers plus tweets, and my lights did dim in the last installation
plus I can get this battery brand new for 80 bucks, so Im' gonna do it

I was thinking of getting an optima yellow top to power my system, as I heard that the stock battery will die pretty quick with any kind of decent system. I'm only going to be putting in two 10's, so should I listen to this hype or am I cool with the stock batt?
the reason my battery died is that I let it go dead a few times, you are better off with an optima, they ahve a yellow top that will fit then integra stock location or you can get a trunk kit and mount it there like I am with a larger red top
i fyou want to be safe, get an optima

the reason why the battery dies so quickly is because usually, the stock alternator cannot put out enough ampere to feed the amp. When it uses up all the potential ampere from the alternator, it starts sucking power from the battery. Eventually, the battery will die because the alternator can't charge the battery.

so what's the secret of the folks without upgraded electrical systems? I had an ex g/f with pretty much the same system I'm about to run on a mustang without having to upgrade, maybe ford's alternator is more badass? What would be the more important thing to upgrade on a civic? The battery or the alternator?
You cannot compare systems like that. Does she listen to her system the same way you do. If you listen to music louder or with more bass, you will draw more power than her. Even though she has the same equipment.
I would do the big 3 upgrade and alternator upgrade first.
