Sufficient Speaker Wire Gauge
What is a sufficient gauge size for pushing 80W rms to Alpine Type-R speakers? I believe that 18 gauge wire came with the speaker set but that doesnt seem like thick enough wire for the power i will put to them; maybe i am just one of those that like to over-do wire size to make sure its thick enough. I will have the speaker wire run from under the passenger seat going to the passenger and the driver's side doors (im going to run the new wire through the door plugs).
are you asking for the power to the amp? Or the output from the amp to the subwoofer/speaker?
If its the output to the speaker your 18ga will be sufficent. Typically my bay uses 16ga speaker wire, but if your not making massive power you do not HAVE TO go to the 16ga

18gauge would work fine -- there would be no audible losses. But if you are going through the trouble of running through the door boots, might as well go with the 16ga in case you want to upgrade your amp later.

Yes that are very informative websites on audio system. I did suggest reading over 100 times to full understand it clearly if you love audio just as me.
