Which sub should I get?
Hi, I'm very new to car audio and I was looking for a sub, one that can pound hard when needed but can also have good quality and well so far I've been looking at the Infinity kappa Perfect 12.1D but I dont know much so there are probably better models to consider out there. Any help on which I should consider would be greatly needed and apprechiated so thanks in advance

That is the best advice anyone can give!
But if you are asking, I like the sound of my Alpine Type R.
You need to answer a few questions before choosing a sub.
What is your overall goal? (SPL or SQ)
How much do you want to spend?
How much space do you have?
What kind of box?
What kind of amp do you have?
What type of music do you listen to most often?

JL Audio makes great subs and they have different models to choose from so depending on how much power and amount of $ you want to spend. The W0's are the entry level and will give you great bang or boom for your buck or you can go all the way up to the W7 expensive and power hungry but I feel is the best sub on the market for sound quality.

Alpine type R's are nice but discontinued, so try to find them somewhere
if i were you, I would pick up a good quality amp. Amps are more important than having a wonderful sub. If a decent sub is powered correctly it will sound great where if a high quality sub isnt powered correctly, it wont sound that great. So after you buy your amp, I would try to pick up 2 decent subs, Say some nice Rockfords or something. If you have your heart on one sub, I would go something better quality, like a W3 or something.

man...
you guys should really stop promoting subs. do you get paid to advertise? lol.
it's all about which sub you like. go to different audio stores with test booths and listen to different subs play.
test the waters.

Hmmm thanks for the advice people
. I did a little bit of research and I fell upon the Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D which I can get for about 300$ canadian without tax. I think I'm into this one because according to what I've read it has good quality sound yet it can pound. What do you guys think about it? Thanks
