Stock CD Player...
Right now I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-7400MP cd player in my 00 Si. I want to put the stock cd player back in so it matches the rest of the dash, but I changed it in the first place because it sounds shitty. I've been out of the audio scene since my first car, so this may sound like a n00b question, but are there any amplifiers I can get that have enough EQ adjustments and a HPF so I can make my stock deck sound good? Preferabbly Alpine or Pioneer. Thanks
there are lots of amps that will work, inc.Alpine and Pioneer. The problem you will still have is the source [oem head unit no pre amp outputs] will drive the amps as boosters insted of as amplifiers.= shitty sound, just louder shitty sound. Fear not there is a "fix". Take your stock unit to a repair shop and have them install a pair of [left + right] RCA pigtails. You may even be able to have them install two sets [front and rear] depends on unit. hope this helps.

not a bad idea - I've seen - although forgotten the link and the name, of a winning SQ competitor that used a stock acura deck and had it modified to use a toslink (optical) cable - ran it to the trunk and it was a very slick way of keeping stock apperances!
