Default Stereo Removal

I really do not know much about car stereos but i wanted to try and do my own installation. The problem is I cannot get the old deck out.

It is an aftermarket Kenwood and there does not appear to be any screws holding it. It pulls out about 1/2 an inch and then just stops. I know there is some catch in there somewhere but i just cannot find it. Here are some pictures to show wut i mean.

Thanks.

maybe see if you can slide the deck out without that sleeve on it, the part that is catching im assuming in on the sleeve. Try just getting at the deck.

i believe that kenwood is held into the can on the sides. since you do not have the keys for the radio, 2 thin pieces of metal should work. you need to slide them in on the sides of the radio. they need to be long enough to go roughly half way down the radio. so they need to be about 3-3 1/2 inches long and about 3/8 wide.

there are two really little thin openings between the cage and the deck... use a hook tool, or if you have keys

just go to an install shop and tell them that you got your deck installd there and that you need the keys for them.

they usualy keep them because they don't want you to take it out yourself because the're install is usualy under warranty.

once you get the keys, slide them on the side and you should hear and feel a click and then pull the keys back and the stereo should come with it
