Default For SQ: Help me choose

I was going to go with ArcAudio for the amps, one for the subs, and then another for the components....any suggestions welcome here...

For subwoofers, I am leaning towards ArcAudio again, they just came out with a nice line I hear (though it may not be on their website). I was going to go with ArcAudio 10" subs (I'll only run 10" subs)... But I am also considering the following: AudioBahn Alum10x, Alumapro Alchemy, IMage Dynamics IDQ10, Eclipse.. Share any thoughts/experiences there please..

If I get ArcAudio, I'll get 4 subs, for others it depends, anywhere from 2-4... but around 700-1000w RMS total for the subs...(max value)

For components, I really don't know.. I am leaning toward Focal's 3-way components in the "Utopia" line... But I am also considering Rainbow (too expensive and not likely) of an undecided line... CDT, a/d/s, Image dynamics... I really don't know here...
I just wanted 3-ways up front no matter what..and for the rear: just some decent speakers will do (not necessarily components though...but they can be...) Hopefully the components can be the same brand as the rear full-ranges though...but not a necessity

Any help here is appreciated... I need all the input I can get.. Don't concern yourself with budget.. I know the costs here, I'm ok with them (except the RAinbows)

Might I ask why you insist on 3 ways? If your car is tuned right, a normal set of componants will be fine. Most high end componant sets give you the midbass that you need to meet up with the subs.

I'll be using Diamond HEX componants in my SQ car this year. Last 2 years I ran MBQuart Q's.

For subs, I'm going to be runnning 2 JL 12W7's. A lot of people are anti JL, but I have a feeling that nothing will touch the W7's this year. Only 1 sub will be used in SQ competition and 2 for SPL.

Arc Audio,

The Audiobahn Alum 10's are excellent SQ subs, as are the Alchemys and IDQ's. It's a tough choice between the three. Though I would personally lead towards the Alchemy. If I were poor, the Alums.

You should also consider the Dynaudio 3-ways.

it just makes more sense that 3-ways would provide a more balanced frequency response throughout the spectrum: I assumed this to be generally true...but, I suppose that I would have to listen to setups first to decide...I have a very good sense of hearing though, you'll be surprised what I can distinguish! My vision on the other hand Sucks majorly

I'll take your suggestion...

And yes, to the other response, I will checkout Dynaudio: They are a fairly big name, I must have forgotten them for some reason...
ALSO: You said you would lean towards the Alchemy's, but what about the ArcAudio subs (better or worse than alchemy's?)...I was thinking you gave the ArcAudio's a "thumbs up" for the amp choice...but I may be wrong of course.

Any more recommendations on amps/components/subs ???

(thanks for any input)

Hey, where did you pick up that kicker panel? Thats a civic as far as I can tell. i'd need 2 for my 99 Civic. Just wondering what you payed , and what size speaker that is? 6'1/2? or 5 1/4"? I'd be interested in pricing on those. They look nice. Too bad it doesn't have black grating or something like over the stock door speakers.

That is my 2000 Si. They were custom made from fiberglass and mdf, then wrapped in matching vinyl and finished off with a hand cut and polished aluminum trim panel. I also have grills for them to protect them during daily use. That pic is just how they will be shown at car shows and competitions. Those are 6.5". I think they cost roughly $500 to be made. My car is sponsored, so I didn't really have to pay much for them. Thanks on the compliment.

you can see more pics of the build up Here
