Speaker sizes for 97 teg
Hey everyone.
I was wondering if someone could help me out by telling me what the speaker sizes, weights and mounting depths are for the 97 teg.
Tweeter?
Front?
Rear?
I'm looking on EBAY and I need to know the sizes.
Thanks in advance!
Dave

How do these speakers sound?
Comment are more than welcome since I know nothing of car audio.. yet.
I have the Sony Xplode headunit (I believe it is 40x4). Will I need anything else to install these speakers?
1. For the back
"Your are looking at one box of two PROFILE SP-62 6 1/2" 2-Way Treated Paper Cone Speakers. These speakers are in brand-new condition, never even removed from box. Features are: 120 Watts Max, Foam Surround, 1" Piezo Tweeter, 12 oz. Magnet, Sensitivity: 91 db and Frequency Response: 50-20,000 Hz. These speakers will make your car sound great!!!"
or
"The are 6.5 inch 2-Way Speakers with Power Handling of 40 Watts Max, 20 Watts RMS. The frequency response is 65 Hz - 20 kHz.
- Efficiency: 91 dB (2.83 V/1m)
- Impedance: 4 Ohms
- Woofer Magnet Weight: 5.3 Oz
- Mounting Depth: 2 Inches"
2. For the front
"6" x 9" Woofer
3 Way Design w/Midrange & Tweeter
Blue Foam Surround
200 Watts Peak Power
50 Oz. Magnet Structure
Frequency Response: 80-19kHz
4 Ohm Impedance
Mounting depth: 2.75 inches
Poly Coated Carbon Woofer
Weather Resistant Cone
3" Piezo Midrange / 1" Piezo Tweeter
Complete Mounting Kit w/Wires & Grills"
Which back speakers are better? How are those front speakers? Keep in mind that I'm not going for hard hitting noise. I am not planning on getting another AMP either. I just want some good sounds to match my 100 W bass tube in the trunk.
Are these speakers good enough?
Thanks alot for the expertise...
Dave

wonny....................
please dont throw crap in your car
I dont know how much your spending limit is, that should really be established 1st
here's what works in the Teg for sound quality
let's do the essentials 1st............
1. a high quality component set or coaxial (ex. MB Quart, Focal, Diamond, etc.) installed in some kickpanels (either Q-forms or custom fabricated) for your front sound stage
2. depending on your need for low-end: one or two 10" subwoofers (again go with a reputable name) in the hatch (or trunk you might have a 4 door)
3. 2 amps: 1 for the front sound stage and one for the sub(s)
4. A good headunit (the higher the voltage output the better)
5. I cant stress this enough....................good wiring
Here's the deal with rear-fill, it should not be much of a factor..........and it should never equal or overpower your front stage............the car should in some way remind you of a concert (ya know all the speakers up front)
get yourself a strong battery, and based on the amps you get pick up a stiffening cap to reserve power for those heavy bass transients.......
there are sooooooooo many other things but I dont want to bombard you
so here's a few links I try to keep to myself http://www.zalytron.com - great speaker only company, the guy sells some of the best speakers in the world http://www.madisound.com - same concept but not a pop&son store like Zalytron
and http://www.sounddomain.com - a good car audio website with various forums and they sell equipment
hope I helped

DAMN BRO!
THat is madd money for me right there. As much as all that was tempting, I don't have the money for that kind of stuff. I was on this forum MONTHS ago because my teg blew up from a bad turbo install (Since then, I have gone through a new motor and tranny, all while my trubo is being rebuilt and those bastards are in court with the State Consumer Protection Agency!
) so I have no money.
What speakers should I buy to just replace the stock speakers in front and back? What higher quality speakers will "slip right in" without much other work?
I have a 100 Watt tube from Kenwood and a Sony Xplode deck. I just want better sounds up front, just like you said.
Any suggestions on that? What size are the speakers up front? including depth?
Thanks for answering
Dave
ps. Your info was very helpful, too bad I don't have money
My budget for getting new front and back speakers is 100-200 bucks.

lol, sorry bro
go to http://www.zalytron.com and pick up a pair of those focal speakers he has for around$100 or so bucks
that will satisfy you for a while
by the way what do you do (profession) because I never have $$$$ to even think about turbo-ing my teg, or doing swaps or any of that cool stuff
thanks

I'm a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a part time intern at the Chicago Tribune doing some finance work (which right now seems more like accounting).
My brother who is 18 is the one with the vision. Since I am his older brother, I give him some cash and let him use my credit card. Since Nov of 2001, I have been dishing out 500 bucks a month plus up to 300 for little expenses. Good thing this is my last month
His dream was never to really mess around with sound, and it wasn't mine either. I just wanted to go a little bit more than stock.
Which size are you talking about? For the front or back? There are a couple for about 100 bucks. Can you be more specific?
Thanks again,
Dave

sorry wonny, I only read this when I'm busy at work (LMAO)
I meant for the front, the rear-fill is your last concern
go with the coaxials for a cheap investment that still sounds better than the stuff you saw advertised
