speaker rattles and stuff
ok, here's the problem. whenever i turn my music up extra loud.. only my passenger left side speaker rattle.. is it BLOWN?! GEE, I HOPE NOT.. IM POOR
sounds like it's semi blown or there's a hole in the speaker... take the speaker out and let us know, if there's a hole it's definitely blown, i had a problem like that with an mb quart coax and i took it out and it had a hole, it only sounded shitty when it was up loud though, so i'd take the speaker out and look at it first
oh ok, let me check.. well it sounds fine when the volume is low, but when i turn it up.. that's when it rattles.. i'll get back to you guys. btw, for amps.. is it better to leave the rear speaker settings at FULL OR FTH or something.. not sure if it's FTH but it's a 3 letter world. peace!
what do you have the bass set at on your deck if its in the positives you have more than likely found your problem , first check for holes like PetroGuyX told ya but then check to see that your gain isnt up all the way or if you have a built in crossover that its set to low pass and that the bass boost isnt all the way up sounds like you might have either a blown sub or your settings arent right hope this helps ... check it out and let us know!
same thing happened to mine but it wasn't actually "blown" yet. Check your dust cap and diaphragm and see if anything is touching it or in it. If not, then your spider could be busted, and there's nothing you can do about that except wait for the rest of the speaker to blow. If it is your spider, adjust focus off that speaker or just listen at low volumes

thx for the reply guys, i opened my speaker last night.. it looks fine. i mean, it looks exactly like the on the other side.. sound music still comes out of it.. i just hear this rattle-like static sound along with the music.. it's only on that side! yes.. i think the gain on my deck is on stockLS, what's the correct setting it should be? it's on 5+

what you can do is GENTLY push the speaker in with you hand and see if you can faintly hear that static sound. (no music playing...turn radio off) If you hear a static or scratching sound, your voice coil is done and its time for a new speaker.
