Default Sound options on Accords

Ok, heres the deal. I just bought a 96 Accord, 4-door with 40,500 miles. I've already installed my 50wX4 kenwood deck as well as 260 watt kenwood excelon 6x9's and 150 watt 6.5's. Now 2 questions. it sounds like crap at volume levels above 18. Will adding a 150wX4 amp help this any? I'm guessing the distortion is coming from the upper ranges of the head unit preamp, and that adding an amp will help. Is this right? Also, what is the best sub setup for the trunk of a 96 accord? Should I go bandpass or not? I'm looking for quality here. Loudness is not as issue. The subs im getting are dual 10" kicker comp vr's. Somebody with experience please help me out.

Check here http://www.kicker.com/05/tech-...l.pdf and here http://www.kicker.com/05/tech-...1.pdf read all of this one, then you will know what kind of box you will want.

When you installed the aftermarket speakers, did they mount properly, did you get an airtight seal between the front and back of the speaker, the SQ of a speaker is not only determined by how much power, [watts] is driving them, but also on how the speakers are mounted. I have had more then one customer come back after replacing the oem speakers with aftermarket ones, puzzled because the oem ones sounded better. In most cases it was install problems.

That said, IMO there is no such thing as too much power. 94
