I have the 620 model the detachable flip face, you can use it in the open or closed position and when i leave it open it makes a noise like it's closing, but it's not. It also tends to skip like crazy when i hit the slightest bump. Anyone know if there is a defect in this model or if it had a recall? Any info would be appreciated, since sony has yet to return my e-mail from over a month ago.
at work, ive had terrible problems with sony's...some reason they just dont have the same kind of quality. i have had problems with the motors in the 620 faces too.
just my 0.02
just my 0.02
friend of mine had a sony head unit and sony 10 disc cd changer.. both skipped like crazy over the smallest bumps.. i guess they just dont make good head units which is why I avoid buying sony mobile audio... he said when it was brand new.. it didnt really do that.. but after a few months.. nothing could remedy the skipping..
i have a sony 5000 head unit [about 2 years old] and it works really well. it shows no trouble over speed bumps and the only time i hear skipping is when i put in a scratched cd
...maybe i just got lucky with my unit
...maybe i just got lucky with my uniti have sony head unit too.. it only skips when its really cold out. but after it warms up i have no problems with it.
I have a Xplod system for about 8 months. It only skip twice, and both times is when I hit a bump rather hard. Other than that, it's fine.
Ive had my sony headunit for like 3 years, in 3 different cars, and its never skipped on me once.
