Default So how did i do? FIRST SYSTEM

well, i just picked up my first real system this week, i have had subs and ams before but nothing that has ever been put together for the whole car, so i finally did that, so tell me how i did and do you guys think it will sound good, i am having it installed next sunday and monday, i can't wait to hear it!!

This is all going into my 98 civic hb

Front doors: JL Audio XR CSi 6.5" Components
Rear: JL Audio VR CXi 6x9
Sub: 1 JL Audio 13W6V2

Amps-
Front Doors: Crossfire 404D 400W 4 Channel
Rear Speakers: Crossfire 202 200W 2 Channel
Sub: Crossfire 1000D 1000w 1 Channel

Wire-
Stinger 1/0 power and ground cable, Stinger 20 farad cap, Stinger fuse blocks with built in amperage/volt meter, stinger rca's and wiring to each individual amp, stinger speaker wire

plan on dynamating every panel that has a speaker in it and the box is being custom built to fit under the cargo cover of my hatchback where it won't be visible from outside the car

Hey man, well ill give you some advice. The speakers should sound good but heres a little secret. Subs work and sound better in triples. So you would get the best sound out of 3 10's or 3 12's. I suggest triple subs. but if not then i would get two subs but never one.... other than that it will sound good

having 3 subs is just an opinion. I have 1 s12l7 subwoofer running off a KX1200.1, I've placed 148.2db's on an spl meter so far off stock electrical systems. I've heard 3 sub set-ups that aren't nearly as loud or sound as good. It's all in the install. 1 sub all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels good to **** off multiple sub users!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should be very satisfied with the sub you bought, although I crushed a JL Audio 13W7 by over 5 db's, like I said, all in the install!

Why never one? What about 2-10's? I wanna make my system clean enough for other people outside the car to hear the lyrics yet I still wanna hit the lows. But why never one? And what about 2-10's?

There's nothing wrong with one sub. If you want to have clear sound as well as hit the lows, go with 1 12" sub. It should be perfect. If the install is done right, the sound will be clear and audible to anyone standing outside the car.

So what type of box should I put it in? Bandpass or sealed? And what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Also, would 2-10's do justice?

thats just an opinion. i know tons of guys, from street kids to guys that work at tweeters. they all run a single sub. one runs a single 8W7 whos tuned for sound quality and over ran 2 10"W6's in a DB race. at around 140ish i think. it depends on how you install it too. theres different kinds of boxes and this and that, wiring. not just your sub, the weakest link in the chain is the true strength of the chain.... or some **** like that. basically if you're running lets say 500 watts, and yuo only have like a 300 watt kit, you're **** is restricted. think of it as drinking out of a straw, the smaller the straw the less liquid you can get at a time, the bigger the straw, the more that will flow up through the straw... accept the car doesnt have to take breaths, aslong as you got a cap .
