Just bought a Sony CDX_m8815x head unit. Want to add XM radio, but not sure which antenae to go with. Can you post pics of your antenae locations? Thanks.

well the unit is XM ready, not XM equipped, so you'll have to get an XM receiver that plugs into that unit. You can go with the new terk setup, which will run you around $100 for the receiver plus the adaptor cables to go into the sony. They all come with the XM Micro antenna's so you won't have to worry about choosing which one.

you can, but in some vehicals and depending on where you live you can loose alot of signal. I did this with a benz and it worked fine until you drove north for a bit.. the signal would get too weak

I tried the dash, it was okay, but there were some reception problems.

I have the XM micro antenna that came with the Skyfi II car kit. I would say it's a little smaller than a book of matches and about a quarter inch tall. I have mine mounted inside the car on the right side of the dash right by the A pillar. So far I have not experienced any problems as far as reception goes. I've had it installed in my car for the last 6-7 months now.
I have the micro. I just have it on the trunk. I've had it inside the car before, but the reception is defiantley better on the outside of the car.
