Remote starter kit! Got a few qs ...
So my Clifford Smart Remote Starter II came in the mail yesterday and I began installing it! It's all going great, but I have a few questions about it. It might be too old of an item for anyone to know anything about it, but you never know.
It came with an old remote and a loopback antenna. I just want to use it with my Clifford Cyber 3 system, I don't really care about using the RF on the unit. Is there some way that I could wire it up to respond to my 4th channel trigger on my Cyber 3? If I can't, I'll probably just make the 4th channel trip a relay to "push" a button on the remote, having it permanently installed into my car. It'll work out good that way cause the remote runs off 12v. However, I want to avoid doing this cause the remote isn't ACG-equipped. It's not really a big deal anyway, right?
Anything I should know before I start using the thing? Of coarse, I'll set the idling RPM and everything. I need to replace the water pump and timing belt before I try it out, so I have to wait before I test my installation
-edit- One more ... when I start the car remotely, do I have to put the key in after I enter the car?

Can't find a manual for it online right this moment, but is there a remote start input wire on the starter? If so, you should be able to use your channel 4 output to trigger the remote start sequence...
Nope. Not that I can see. It seems to be a standalone unit. I could probably make an input wire with a volt meter and about 20 minutes, but I dunno if I'm about to start fooling with that idea quite yet. I want to see it work first
Man there are so many WIRES to this thing! I've spent two days snaking wires around the chassis! I have everything but the ignition wired up right now, woohoo. Most of my under-the-wheel work is over
