Whats up everybody? Well I just had a quick question...So, Today I purchased a 99 EK with a B18C1 Swap. But Unfortunantly the previous owner had a Remote start on a 5 speed Car. Does anyone know how i can take the Remote Start Off without doing anything to the Security System??? Thanx, Help Appreciated!!!

I'm not familiar with that alarm but all remote start alarms that I know of require a safety circuit to see ground before it allows a remote start. All you would have to do is cut that wire and ground it. Typically it's hooked up to a pin switch on the hood. If your car wont remote start with the hood open, that's a good indication. Other times they're wired to the parking brake. I've found that the parking brake isn't strong enough and the starter can drag the rear brakes. There should also be an input to the brake wire but that's a positive.

 

The easiest way to disable the remote start portion of a remote start/alarm combo unit and still retain the alarm is to simply disconnect the starter output lead, brown if I remember right.
