Default Remote Start install in Wa. Need help!

Hey I just got a clifford matrix rs3.5 with remote start. I know all the implications of having remote start on a manual since i searched about 100 times on here. Anyways, I'm looking for an experienced alarm installer that has done this on a manual before to install mine. I will be willing to pay straight cash for their services. I'm located near Bellevue, so peeps near seattle/tacoma area will do. Thanks for your help guys, and if you need to reach me PM me or call 206-852-2838 and ask for Bryan.

I read that if they install the alarm on the Manuel it voids the warrenty y not just get a Compustar.. they are the only Alarm that can safely be installed on a Manuel

BTW call around Magnolia-Hifi an many others..

nah, they won't do it. They are liable if anything happens. So, I'm just lookin for someone local who has done the install before. The matrix is already installed on my car, just all the hardware for remote start wasn't installed yet.

i think it voids the warranty. i have never heard of a system that can be safely installed on a manual and i can not think if any way that can happen. i have installed 2 remote starters myself and one was an rs3.5 so to let everyone know that i am not talking out of my ***.

please specify what car u have. it would help a great deal.

if u have no luck on finding an installer, the remote starter wires as i remember them to be, isnt too hard to put in. everything is pretty accessibly from under the dash. if your brain is there too, it would be better as well ( hopefully its NOT and if so hidden). the 2 hardest wires to get to is the brake light wire and the 2 clutch wires.

Good luck. If there is ever an accident, you and possibly the person who installed it(even if they are not a proffesional) could get in serious trouble, not to mention the huge potential for lawsuits. However, I have heard of people putting an IR laser beam across the neutral position of the shifter and setting up the unit so that it will only start if the beam is broken. Someone I used to work with when I was an installer had found the description somewhere on the net.

yeah i know the legal implications. But the person installing it doesn't even have to provide me their name if they install it. I will not hold them liable in any way since it was my decision for them to install it. I know it puts those who install in a legally binding position, but I would not even think about holding them liable if the worst happens.

my remote start in my civic has ir sensors that are mounted on the shifter and car and if the shifter is not in neutral it won't start. It is a astroflex RS from canada. Not the easiest thing to install but I don't know of a better setup. Other than doing a certain actions before you get out so it will start next time.

They don't make them anymore! I've been watching ebay for them too. Very Very hard to find.

I've installed tons of remote starts before i moved out here. I can set a couple safety switches but, its defiantly not safe.

Call compustar tech support and have them recommend a dealer in your area. They are out of washington , now , so it should be no problem for them to recommend a local dealer for you.

Or you drive up to Vancouver and get any A&B or Visions Electronics, Future shop etc... to do. ( we arn't afraid of manual trannys up here .)

i don't think they'd recommend a dealer considering i have a clifford alarm which is made by dei and the fact remote start on manual trannies is illegal in washington.

I'd do it for 55 plus whatever parts i need (relays). But youd have to drive down here.

what you need to do is go to a local stereo shop and talk to installer, don't talk to a sales guy. Theres got to be someone who will do it on there own time at home. Tell him you will sign a waver saying hes not responsible for anything that happens.
