radio volume fluctuating??
Quick question and may be a little OT, as this is not for a factory Honda radio but for a Ford factory head unit. The volume continues to fluctuate all he time. I can turn the **** and it doesn't matter. The damn thing has a mind of its own.
Any suggestions as to where the problem is coming from??

Could be the unit itself... could be the wiring -- could be lots of things.
You tried pulling the unit out to take a peak at the harness? Maybe a loose wire in there someplace? Could be the unit took a hit -- and has internal damage. Experiment

my g/f's mom had that problem in her explorer, and so did her dad. they had that problem, and sometimes the display would just quit working. her mom had the headunit replaced about 3 times i believe and her dad had it replaced once and then ended up buying an aftermarket alpine unit.
Thanks for the replies. I can actually believe that this is pretty standard in terms of occurrence. I think I'm just gonna try to pull it out in the next week or two to check things out, and I'll probably end up picking up an aftermarket head unit.
