Cobra isn't that bad. I have the $80 one. It could be better i guess, but that's like the only good cheap one. If you wanted to spend more, go for a Passport

I know the radar jammers are illegal pretty much everywhere, but like others have said, the detectors are only illegal in certain states.

I've got an Escort Passport in my Accord. I think it's like $275 brand new, but mine was free . Works wonders for me. I like it better than the Cobra ones, but the Cobras are still really good detectors for the money. I used to have one but switched to the Passport when I got it. When you get one, you have to remember not to solely rely on the detector itself. You still need to keep your eyes out for cops. I say this because they can get behind you in an unmarked car and pace you and never use their radar gun. Just giving you a heads up!

i have a passport 8500 x50 in all of my cars. best radar detector for money and range in my opinion. i believe its about $250 new on ebay compared to $450 for the valentine.

ive used both and i like the passport better than the valentine. they both equally catch the signals from about the same distance. the only thing that the valentine has over the passport is the directionals but hey i slow down when i see the bars going up anyways so i dont really need to directionals.

the bad thing about the valentine, its huge. its like a big *** thing on your windshield.

in my opinion....passport &gt; valentine

It is not illegal in Mass

I have a Escort 8500x50, and it works great for me.

You can test both the passport and the v1 out and return the one you don't want, I'm pretty sure free of charge, that's what valentine's website said anyways.

I've had my Valentine One for about a year and a half now. It's saved me on more than enough occasions to pay itself off 10 times.

you cant just buy the concealed display itself.. you have to buy the regular V1 which then you plug the concealed display in and hide it wherever you want.

Valentine One is not as good as everyone thinks it is IMHO. Its huge, the direction arrows are really useless. Escort Passport X50 is probably the best for your $$ currently in the market.

I've always been a fan of installed systems (ie. K40)

i had both passport 8500 and v1 and i gotta say the v1 has many advantages over passport like the radar locator which is very useful, the bogey counter, and rear antenna.

No. LIDAR is the abbreviation for what people call "laser", is not "radar" at all, and is short for LIght Detection And Ranging.

You may be thinking of POP...

My brother has a V1, saved him from many tickets. Im getting one when I get the extra money, aswell as a set of Blinder M40 jammers or Laser Interceptors (depending on how much money I have left over from buying my accord)

IMO radar is only useful if your city is using ancient radar guns.

When laser is used if it beeps it pretty much just tell you you are getting a ticket.

With POP it looks to be going the same way.

Once I removed my radar and learned to drive with my head. I have yet to get a ticket.(knock on wood). Its fairly easy to guess where police would be hiding.

No such thing, those so called radar jammers are a joke and do NOTHING.

Right... Ancient or brand new, they still work basically the same. It's ALL on how smart or lazy the cop is! One big thing with the new units is they have multi direction functioning in a millisecond with the flip of a switch. So whether you are moving toward the cop or pulling away, he can still accurately obtain your speed.

You should not be getting tickets if you get hit by POP. It says so right in the dam radar gun owners manual. Will cops still right you a ticket, sure if there ******. It's happened to me and of course he lied about it in court.

The V1 has the best laser detection out and it has saved me a few times. If the cop is aiming at you then yeah, your screwed but if you get a bounce off a car 500ft in front of you then you know to slow down. If there is allot of laser in your area, get a laser jammer. The Escort jammer works great and if you have there radar detector you can link the two.

You obviously know nothing of moving radar. It's the #1 cause for tickets in my area. If you speed, driving with no radar detector is just plan retarded. Even a cheap 100$ one will save you at least once if used properly.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JDM_Ej &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Valentine One is not as good as everyone thinks it is IMHO. You have never owned a V1! You really don't know how awesome the simple functions it has are until you have used one and have to live w/o it.

I will agree though, as far as best bang for buck the X50 is where it's at. You can pick them up used for extremely good prices. The V1's hold there value MUCH better.

It's a nice setup but it's overpriced and has not been proven to be better then the V1, the X50, or the bell RX75 remote mounted system yet. This is because it is so new though. I am looking forward to seeing how well it works with laser detection and jamming. Right now the V1 takes the cake when it come to laser detection.
