more specifically a 9851 to a 9853? i recently lost my face and was wondering if they were interchangable. i doubt they are but it is worth a try. thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this

 

i've put different model faces on other chassis before, but you're taking a chance and I can't guarentee those two can be interchanged

ahahaahahahahah. most of the time they can be interchanged, i've interchanged pioneer ones before.. just give it a shot, if it doesn't work sell it.

What model pioneer? And you must of done it back in the day because now the radio functions are to far off. only model you can do this with on the pioneer if if the model is regular model and the other version is a premier. but must be on the same model.

On the alpine radio, you are not going to get a screen I do believe, try it if it works it work. in not go buy your self a new radio.

 

i did it less than a year ago. It was like a 41 to a 410 or something like that. i think you could probably switch screens on like a deh-p8mp to a deh-p80mp.

yeahhhh. thats what i wasn't sure on the alpine. i'd assume they have close to the same functions.. by i don't see why he just doesn't get the same face plate and be done with it. or "find" his.

 

it kind of gets on my nerves that you are implying that i stole something. i work for everything i buy and i have been a victim of theft in the past. so please stop with the subtle theft comments. and my reasoning behind wanting to know is because if i can get an upgraded deck for a fraction of the price for a new one then why not. i doubted it was possible because every HU has different features and what not. i already checked out alpines site and a replacement HU for a 9851 is like $80, not bad.

all that aside my face was found the same night by my friend in a bag of chips it must have fell out of my back pocket and into the bag. anyway thanks for all of your insight
