Default panasonic face plates

could i switch my faceplate with another of a higher up model of the same year? the connections look the same, but im not sure

it's the software of the radio that's the problem, there might be features on one that aren't on the other, not to mention, the faces might have different looks, HD3DDM display vs a regular display...I would say that wouldn't be a good idea.
