Default opinion on this dash kit

Guys check out this dash kit. Do you think it will be a perfect color/texture match in the 07 Si. The Si is the really dark color dash.

BTW i know theres been threads on this before. But for some reason i cant seem to come to a general conclusion on what people think. I've even read that the stock OEM is slightly off in color........

I like the OEM HU also. I'm putting in an avic D3 double din navi unit. Reason why i was debating getting the scosche is because i thought it would solve the issue of having a gap between the D3 and the big empty square that the OEM nav would have filled in the oem dash piece.

there is a cheapo trim ring that comes with the D3 but i dont know if its gonna fill that gap properly????????

also, i'm worried how exactly the OEM brackets are gonna "grab on to" the D3. Arent they meant to support the wider casing of the OEM navi? i'm not even sure if the OEM navi is slimmer behind the face/screen. I know the D3 is slimmer than the OEM navi all around. (BTW i ordered the OEM dash panel)

Can anyone give me some insight on how the OEM navi brackets are supposed to grab on too the aftermarkt navi units? how do they reach the unit if they were meant to grab fatter OEM navi? help would be aprreciated

i dunno, but isn't the OEM navi a double din fitting?

or just a little bigger...

I could measure it tomorrow for ya...

I work at a honda dealership, and the nav units in the CR-V and Civics are the same...

Wow, that kit is very overpriced compared to the OEM navi one. My navi dash arrived yesterday. I ordered all the parts on one of the DIY on 8thcivc.com. It was alot cheaper compared to what the kit is. Here are a few pictures of my stock and the Navi dash.

Color is EXACT. Theres no difference at all. The lighting in those pictures make the Navi one look brighter. I tried my best to get the same lighting on both. I can assure you that it is the same color. Plus, it's cheaper so it's a no brainer. But if you insist on getting that aftermarket one then its all on you.

ok i mounted the D3 in the OEM navi piece today. I believe the color is perfect but i didnt get to see it in bright light.

Also for any newbs out there. Yes, OEM navi brackets do grab and hold on to a aftermarket double din unit. However the face of the afermarket navi is slimmer than the OEM one so there is a gap. Your gonna have to find a trim ring to fill that.

The Scosche and Metra kits are slightly different color and texture than the rest of the dash. Most people don't care. You have to be pretty ****.
