Which one should I get?
I am currently debating as to which sub I should get to finish off my system. After a lot of thinking, I have narrowed my decision down to either the Infinity Kappa 120.3 DVC or the Rockford Fosgate Punch HE2. Those of you who have heard both of these, please give me a recommendation. Also, should I get a 10" or a 12" ? I listen mostly to rock/alternative music. Thanks a lot for your responses.
I would go with the infinities. the rockfords don't sound too good. and i would go with the 10's if all you listen to is rock/alternative. the 10's will give you tighter bass which is probably what you want.
To expand your horizons a little, I'd say Image Dynamics IDQ12 v2, or Alumapro Alchemy 12's. I have a 10, and I definitely regret it. These two subs will provide the tight bass that most 10's have, but will give the lower end extension and higher SPL of a 12", while maintaining bass accuracy superior to 95% of the subs out there. Or if you're crazy, get an IDMAX 12...but then you need a 1000w amp to power it...
The Rockford HE2s are cool, but are more SPL oriented rather than SQ...you'll definitely find the Alumapros or the IDs a lot cleaner. But before you jump to conclusions, go to a car audio shop and listen to each for yourself. Sound quality is such an objective thing, that you have to buy what you like.

I like both subs, If I were you I would go with a kappa perfect though. They can handle more power (350w rms vs. 275rms) and you can run it in a 4 ohm load.
If u get the HE2 or the kappa dvc you are stuck with either running a 2 or a 8 ohm load.
Also the perfects have a 4yr warranty vs rockfords 1 yr warranty.
Here is a site that sells perfects for dirt cheap...

I'd go with neither, but if i had to choose I would pick the RF HE2 even though i am not a big fan RF. I would get a JL IMO. ANyway i'd go with the 12 if you are going to listen to more rock. 10's are going to give off a deeper bass for rap music. I have a single 12in JL W3. I like it, not too much but enough.
staying w/in your choices I would get the Infinity .. and I'd get a 12...
I would also look into 12" Infinity Perfect, Image Dynamics, or JL Audio 12W6's (got these in 1 car)... I guess my Kicker 12" Solobaric (got these in anotha) isn't bad either IMO... so look into these if their w/in your budget...
I listen to mostly Rap, Trance, K-pop, Freestyle, R&B, Hip hop and the JL 12W6's and Kicker Solobaric 12's hit pretty well IMO...

12" will as punchy as a 10". put a subsonic filter on both subs at say 30hz and low pass each sub at 70hz. both will sound the same, but the 12" will be louder. if you're seeking that fast hitting bass for trance, rock, etc..then you'll want a midbass driver. subs tend to be low passed at 70hz and most speakers will play audible sound at around 100hz and up. from that 70-100hz..you're missing out on a lot.
just something to think about

depending on what kind of car the speakers are going and what size and brand amp u are putting on it can make all the difference on what size speakers and which brand how much u are willing to spend

BTW, I like the choice on the IDQ's. Excellent driver
