?ohm load on subwoofer?
I have an Alpine-1240D dvc sub.(just one)
I know that I have to wire it up to either 2ohm or 8ohm load.
What is the advantage and disadvantage of running your sub either 2ohm or 8ohm?
2ohm will double my amp power but 8ohm would cut it in half?
TIA.

You're on the right track. But your amp must be able to handle a 2 ohm load. What amp are you using? Is it a stereo or mono amp? If it's a mono amp, you are definitely ok.
I have a Rockford Power bd500.1 mono sub amplifier.
If I run the sub @ 2ohms, that would be 714watts according to the test paper that came with the amp. That's too much bass for me.
If I go 8ohms, that's gonna be too little.
I'm now selling the sub and buying a 4ohm svc sub or 2ohm dvc sub.
Thanks for the replies.
