Did you buy the center console from http://www.scienceofspeed.com ? The owner did know there was a factory Nav option didn't he? What did you use to paint the console?

No we don't drive cars here.. We value our high end customers and don't go out and beat on cars like morons.. I would kill someone if I left the car there and they went out and drove it..

And yes he knew there was an option for factory Nav however he wanted it in the middle of the dash vs up top..

And we just used the Stock center console and modified it..

how did you finish the piece? That texture looks a bit odd - probably just the way the pic is - any under construction pics?

Thats what I was thinking.

I'm always shocked when an owner chooses to cut up a $600-$700 center console over one that is easier to cut up and only cost $269.00

Actually, that piece is $222 and it works out a hell of a lot better than the factory one, I wouldn't want him to have to un-buckle his seat belt to change the radio station, LOL

check out the finished product, it sounds great, fit a 8" W0 sub in the floor where the factory 4" sub was located, he loves it.

Dash texture isn't as good as I'd expected, but he was happy

Eclipse has no form of direct connect satallite radio, and if you've owned it, you know that it's a MUST!

So we did a sneaky install of the antenna's between the windshield and the dash in the corner of the NAV antenna and the XM antenna.

The Alpine piece controls the stations, but it is an auxillary input through the AI-NET to RCA adapter, so it sounds just as good, but not quite as convenient.

But noone else sells a navigation unit neary as cool as the Eclipse!

that makes sence and i really feel dumb since we sell that peice at work. that headunit is really nice and the nev really is easy to use. the only draw back to that unit is it's low voltage pre-out section.

I was reffering to the cost it takes to replace a stock center console. The one SOS makes is FRP and can be cut out to any shape you want.

That ampflifier is going to get hot in that location. Tell him to never install an aftermarket exhaust without thinking of something different to do with the amplifier.

Is his car painted? I don't remember any of the first year NSX's in yellow.

My guess would be his car is either a 93 or 94 assuming he didn't change the wheels it would be a 94. Same year as mine

The people tha I have sold the unit to so far could care less about the pre-amp voltage as long as it has a set or 2 of RCA's

Yeah, he told us it got hot where we put it, but it's the best location looks wise, so until it overheats on him, thats where it'll be

It's a 91, repainted from red.

you can see the red paint in a few pix, like the ones of the sub enclosure.

What's inside the glove box? It looks like one from a 94 or up which had the passenger side airbag. Reconstructed?
