Default Noisy tape deck

Hey everyone, just got a used 2000 Accord LX. It has a combination tape-deck, cd-player stereo. I want to keep the tape deck because I can use it with my mp3 player with one of those cassette adapter things. It works great, but since the car is 8 years old the deck itself is noisy. I know it isn't the adapter as I've tried other ones...and it makes the noise either way. It sounds like whatever mechanism spins the spools in the tape is just kind of squeaking/creaking. Does anyone know a good way to clean out a car tape-deck? Granted I know you can get head cleaners that you just put in and play...but I think I'm gonna need to find a way to lubricate/clean some of the inner-workings out. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

Pull HU from dash, open HU up and remove pack assembly, [Cass transport] disassemble pack assembly, clean lube, [only a few things need lube and very little of it] reassemble, reinstall into HU, reinstall HU. 94
