Default No FM/AM?

Ok I put a aftermarket pioneer radio in my car, when I bought it, it didn't have it so I bought the radio as well as the harness, so it works but not the FM/AM section, just get a whole bunch of static, why would this be wrong wiring? Or maybe antenna? (When car is on antenna only goes half way up, when off itll be 1/4 up still not fully down, can that be the problem?

Did you plug the antenna cable into the back of the Pioneer?

The plug looks like this:

It would plug into the hole to the left of the red RCA jacks:

Hope this helps.

A bit of a bump to this thread... but is the antenna connector just a standard phono type? Or do I need to find something OEM?

Thanks! I just put the original tape deck back in my VX, but no radio without the antenna.

Slight update (for everyone watching this thread with bated breath). Radio Shack has a Motorola-type plug that plugs right in. Not saying I recommend it for any type of hi-fi system, but it lets me listen to NPR on the way to work.
