need to know the exact mounting depth
im thinking about installing jl audio 6w0 sub-drivers in my doors for mid-bass drivers (the mounting depth is 3.5").....the reason being im running a alpine mrv-f450 which is a 5 channel amp and the fifth channel is 4 ohm stable only so i was going to run a set of 8 ohm speakers in parrel so it will drop the impedance to 4 ohm and i wont have a problem between the speaker and the amp
I'm pretty sure that you can squeeze them in there with a 1" spacer, but you'll have to worry about them hitting the door panel. Good luck.

Not to **** in your weaties, but the cones on the 6W0's are too heavy to be good midbasses...they have been designed as true subwoofers. You also really don't want midbasses to play in mono...it will smear your stage everywhere.
ok i see what your sayin any ideas (other then a new amp)
ok bear with me here so i could run these speakers as subs in the doors right?
then it wouldnt matter if its stereo or mono?
my overall goal here is to level out the bass in the car so it not all coming from the rear!!!
i plan on running about 90-100hz to these is that still a problem

90-100 as your high pass or low pass ?
Run them as low they can go, and maybe up to 100-120 (?) for the high pass cut off. If you go higher, the low end of your sound stage will be in mono.
Also, how steep is your x-over?
I'm wondering if you'll see a peak when the sub and the mid bass meet...

ok heres the setup
on my subs im running about 45hz +/-12db
on the 6w0 in the door i can run them lowpass 80-250hz.... no problem but ill be looking for 80-100hz +/-12db mostly...
the subs signal is cut off at about 60 or 65 hz i think so there is a slight chance that the subs and these will ever peak together
well there is another thing im also running a set of jl audio 2 way components for my highs and mids
the 6w0 are just for signals around 80-100hz

I'm a car audio tech.... if ur civic is '96-up... forget it. Unless you build custom kickpanels... its much easier that way. We build custom fiberglass kickpanels for $250. Most reputable shops will probably be around $200-$400. Sometimes u can even stuff 8" in them too. That sounds bad azz with a bandpass x-over.
Also... I do a lot of tuning for competitions, here's a quick soundstage tip. To make ur bass sound like its coming from the front, get a high band (the more bands the better but more of a headache), quality eq like from Audio Control. X-over the fronts with bass frequencies maxed out on the eq. Now, with the x-over set, set all the frequencies to middle, and slowly lower the midrange x-over frequency (like around 80Hz) until u get clean bass out of ur mids. Then slowly raise the subwoofer frequencies (usually around 80Hz) until ur soundstage is perfect. The end result it a midrange starting to hit the bass while ur subwoofer finishes it off. It tricks ur brain into thinking that the bass is coming from ur doors. X-overing the frequencies to match at 80Hz won't do it. You've gotta fine tune the x-overs at around that frequency and than raise or lower the actual level of the mid and sub. If done right, you'll be amazed.
