Default Need an idea for a replacement antenna.

Hey everyone. I've been driving around with a crappy antenna on my car and I was wondering where I could find a nice replacement antenna that can actually catch a good signal without having to be really close to Houston to get a good signal, lol. Any help is appreciated.

You should be able to find a replacement powered antenna unit at your local Pep Boys or Advance Auto Parts ($45). I know it is a universal (METRA) kit but I replaced the one on my father's Integra and it works fine...

Those little antennas on Tahoe's and other GM's are the OnStar antenna. The shark fins on Bimmers are XM antennas. Neither will work for you. Both vehicles you mentioned (as well as alot of newer cars) have antennas built onto the rear window glass...

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Sorry to hijack your thread Knucklehead11. Back to his question? I'd like to know too.

Generally, replacing the antenna won't get you any better reception. Is the antenna making good contact with the body or is it a little rusty around where the antenna comes through?

You could also try a powered fm booster (search online) and see if that helps...
