Default Need Help On Alarm Wiring..

Ok so I bought a new LCD alarm, and I'd like to do install it myself... I have my old and new alarm's diagram, and most of the I/Os match... just a couple of them I can't figure out where to go... any help would be appreciated..

---
OLD ALARM
---
IGNITION 1 OUTPUT
IGNITION 2 OUTPUT
ACCESSORY OUTPUT
STARTER MOTOR OUTPUT

2 STEP UNLOCK OUTPUT
TRUNK TRIGGER INPUT
NEGATIVE DOOR TRIGGER INPUT
POSITIVE DOOR TRIGGER INPUT

GREEN TACH INPUT
OEM OUTPUT
PULSED OUTPUT
3RD IGNITION OUTPUT
BRAKE SWITCH INPUT
HOOD INPUT

---
NEW ALARM
---
IGNITION KEY INPUT

POSITIVE DOOR TRIGGER INPUT
NEGATIVE DOOR TRIGGER INPUT

POLARITY
UNLOCK
UNLOCK COMMON
LOCK COMMON
LOCK

if anyone can match these up for me or advise me which ones are needed and not needed, it'd be greatly appreciated... oh BTW anyone out here in Long Island knows a quality car audio/alarm shop that'd install it for me? I'm doing it myself because I dont' wanna pay over $100 for someone to just clip some wires...

Thanks

Just to clear up the previous post a little....

On your new alarm, connect the lock and unlock common wires to ground and then connect the remaining lock and unlock wires to the corresponding ones Json79 mentioned. Don't worry about the positve door trigger wire on the new alarm as well since Hondas are of the negative trigger type.

Hey, I just have a couple more questions on where to wire these:...

Old Alarm
- Ignition 1 output +
- Ignition 2 output +
- Accessory output +
- Starter Motor output +
- 2 step unlock output -
- Trunk Trigger Input -
- Green Tach Input
- OEM output -
- Pulsed output -
- 3rd Ignitino Output -
- Brake Switch Input +
- Hood input -

New Alarm:
- Ignition Key Input
- Polarity

apparently the old alarm has alot more wires than the new one... If those are not needed how should i take care of them?

Thanks in advance!

what kind of alarm is the new one and the old one as well....also does it have remote start as well (the new one)?

you can definitely ignore these wires from the old alarm:

ignition 2
3rd ignition
2 step unlock (unless you only want the driver's door to unlock when you disarm the alarm....you'll have to press another button to unlock the other doors....the new alarm must have this feature as well)

trace the old wires to where they interface to the car's wiring....if the connections are soldered you can desolder them and tape the exposed wire - 3M electrical tape is the best. if the connections are made with taps, just remove the tap and tape where the splice was made.

the ignition key input should be connected to the ignition wire Json79 pointed out earlier. this is typically used as one of the trigger inputs.

teken....this quote was used in reference to what to do with old wires/connections that aren't going to be used with the new alarm.....NOT to be confused with proper alarm wiring techniques

chill out with the harsh comments until you have a better idea of what i meant!!

the "polarity" wire can be related to various circuits on your car. the most common are either the door locks, door trigger and the parking lights. a lot of alarms have built-in relays that drive these circuits. the relays depend upon certain inputs (12v+ or ground) so that it can send the appropriate signal to the intended circuit.

at this point i think it would help to know what kind of alarm you have and if the installation manual is available online. without this info, it's going to be difficult to help you further.
