looking for a wma-mp3 converter
here's what i did:
Open your .WMA's in winamp. don't play them yet. Go to Options, then preferences. Under hte plug-ins section, look for output. Click that. Then click the Nullsoft disk writer, then hit configure. Click the box that says Convert To Format: and then pick the format you want (The box where you pick it by default should says PCM... pick MP3). Then hit your attributes. If you can't do over like 56kbps, then you need to download another MP3 codec.
To get a better Mp3 codec, go to http://www.free-codecs.com (I think that was the site) and download the Lame ACM MP3 Codec (or install an MP3 codec other than the one with windows). Then restart winamp and follow the paragraph above. You should now see like Lame MP3. Use that, then hit Ok, then OK, then close. Now when you hit play, any songs in your play list will be converted to the MP3 format with the kbps you picked under the attributes.
