looking for awsome sounds!!
i am looking for great sounding speakers...not necessarily top of the line but some pretty good ones, something on a similar level of bose would be nice. i probably would buy bose but im trying to stay away from a paper cone. I do not want a subwoofer in my car either but i really want to be able to feel the pump in my chest and the bass moving throughout my body. i know its hard without subs and i dont necessarily need 6.5's i can fab something...but just spectacular speakers are what im looking for. thanks guys!

Is it just speakers you are looking for?
If you already have equipment, [HU, amp(s) or speakers] what are the makes and models?
Some kind of budget would help.

94 acura integra ls, everything stock, im putting together a budget right now, but i hope to pay less than 800 for speakers alone. no amps wiring installation etc...

Advice? Nahhh.. I've been out of the retail game for like a year and a half... I have no idea what's out there these days...
However, I'm very happy with the JL component set I bought back in '98...
I also had a bunch of happy customers when they bought the Alpine Type R components back 2 years ago...

Really hard with out a sub or some kind of midbass drivers. get some kick pannels for your car. Then use the doors to mount a midbass driver. A nice 3 way setup would work. Or a regular componet set with midbass drivers added. Your also going to need a amp or two depending on your budget.

I also have a 94LS. I run Eclipse 6.5" 2ways in the doors and in the rears, the tweeters are disconnected on the rear speakers. all 4 are running off an Alpine HU.
The front speakers are mounted to custom MDF speaker housings and extensive Dynamating has been done to the doors.
The rear speakers are mounted into custom MDF and fiberglass cabinets, some Dynamating has been done in the rear.
Other then about 12" of 16ga in the cabinets all speaker wiring is stock, and speakers are behind stock grills.
This system was designed and built as a demo to show what can be done without subs and off board amps, it works very well, with very good bass response.
On more then one occasion I have been accused of having a hidden amp and subs, or the rear speakers are subs.
You must understand, the SQ and bass response I get is because of a very good HU, [CDA-7893] and the install of the speakes.
This winter I will be rebuilding the car and the sound system, HU will stay the same, speakers will be either Alpine SPX-Z18T... http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-e...-Z18T or the Hertz, Mille MLK 2... http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm and a set of JL Audio 6W0... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...id=23 or possibly the Hertz Mille MLK 3, drive it all with an Audison Thesis 2ch amp... http://www.audison.com/default.asp?lang=eng
All a little on the expensive side, however, as in my sig., "you get what you pay for", and I do know the right people to get Alpine, Hertz and Audison at cost, maybe even less from the distributors, and with full warranties. 94
