locks instead of hood pins?...

if i were to use barrel-style key locks in place of the the regular hood pins(like the keys on a club...circle shaped)...would that creat a good barrier from theives??...

No, it would further spark their interest in your car.

A hood lock is more effective.

yeah it would make it harder for a thief to get in to your car, but then again it would spark their interest in what's actually under the hood.
