Kill Switch question.
I was wondering if it were possible to use a relay to make a switch work for two different things. Ok here's an example, say you have fog lights but want to use that switch for a starter cut off. Is it possible to wire a relay so that the switch will only turn the fogs on when you have your parking lights on? All the while still being able to use the switch itself as a kill switch??
Yes, you will need three relays, one to rev. the polarity of the fog light switch from 12V+ to 12V-, the ground out of that relay will be used to latch the other two relays, one of them is the latch and the other is your "kill" relay, they will de-latch when ign. is turned off.

This is what I did, and it uses 4 relays. However, don't assume this makes everything perfectly safe. My car was stolen a month ago anyways and my starter kill was left in tact. I can only assume it was towed...

The starter kill is deactivated by the positive output of the vehicle's horn relay and the horn's interrupt is deactivated by the positive output of the starter wire from the key. You could substitute the horn with other devices such as parking lights, brake lights, etc. where you do not want it to be obvious that you used the device to disable the starter kill.</TD></TR></TABLE>

In the above case the ground to the PGM-FI Main Relay is cut by the latching relays, you will need a 3rd relay to change the output from the fog light switch, [12V+] to a ground, the relay would take the place of the diode in the above diagram.
