JL 10w0 ????
I'm figuring these are the bottom end JL subs....but how do they compare to something like a rockford or a mtx sub...meaning the cheaper ones....
figure if I can get two 10's really cheap its better than the rockfords I already have...but I could be wrong

The W0's are designed for low to moderate powered sub systems.....base it on your power output of the sub amp (125 w rms is the optimal recommend power per 0 series sub) and choose accordingly...as long as you dont exceed the recommended rms power you should be fine.
figure the two 10's I have now are only getting powered by a 160or 180 watt rockford amp...so I figure that the two W0's with the same amp SHOULD give me better sounding bass that the xlc rockfords

ohh well I didnt bid high enough on ebay and went to lunch..came back the set sold for 62.05...not bad for a used set in good condition...dammit if I wasnt so hungry

anyone running these??!?!!?!?
They are being powered by a Rockford Punch 500a2 which is definately to much power for them. I have the gain turned way down. The only reason i got this amp is because i got a great deal on it. I want to upgrade, but my right ear is already showing signs of being fucked. When i was at Best Buy and i was listening to Computer speakers, my right ear felt as if it was not cleaned in months, compared to my left ear. I think that plays in part with the bass being so strong that my ***** vibrate. Yeah. Well, the 10Wo's are awesome subs, and when given the appropriate power levels, no more than 400wRMS, they will sound amazing, and last you a long time.

Hey, what causes an amp to clip? Trying to push it beyond its rated output level. IMO its always better to have too much power (just turn the gains down) than not enough. You will never blow a sub from overpowering it, unless you overheat the voice coil.

REV:even though the gain control adjust the level of input, You can exceed the MECHANICAL limits of the subs motor structure if too much power is applied...ask any DB drag competitor or boulevard cruiser,,,just thought you should know..

i used to have 2 10 wo's they have very very good sound quality. the sound quality is like nothing ive ever heard. the problem is that it doesnt hit that hard. i used a ppi amp to power them. i got rid of them then went to w'3. the SQ is still very good and hit harder but i got used to the bass and i needed more. now i have 2 12" diamond audio M6 subs with a ppi pcx 2125.
