Default Ipod hookup for Toyota Matrix

Ok I need to get something for my mom on mothers day. I was thinking about a hookup for her Ipod in her car.

I have an alpine with the Ipod controller that works great but its a little slow.
I saw this http://www.crutchfield.com/S-T...n.asp

but for 200 I would think an Alpine cd player like this http://www.crutchfield.com/S-T...A9856
with the Ipod controller would be better.

The reason I want her to have the ipod controller and not just AUX in is because she is blind in one eye. I think she needs to keep her eye on the road as much as possible.

What do you boys think. Any recommendations.

She has an FM transmitter and its crap.

depends on how much you want to spend, if she wants a new headunit, and if she will be able to figure it all out (on the headunit)

then i would do the headunit for the best reception, and with the remote, if she learns it she won't have to take her eye off the road to change the songs. I have the pioneer setup and i love it, so im not too sure how well the alpine works, but you said you have it and your fimilar with it. So, yeah i'd get her a new headunit and stuff, she'll be safer

plus she can hide her ipod in the glove compartment and have it be charged instead of having to worry about plugging it in and stuff. The less she has to do the safer she'll be.
