Default Intermittent Radio!

Im asking here first to see if this has possibly happened to anyone else and I just would not know exactly what to search for, so hopefully someone can help. In my 91' CRX HF I have some sort of radio malfunction. It occurs only on the FM band and seems to be linked to several mechanical and electrical pieces. I have noticed that more often then not the FM will cease to work when I do not have my foot on the gas pedal, but as soon as I nudge the throttle even the tinniest bit applied the radio will function normal again. On only 1 other occasion it would only work when the brake was applied. I figured, hey it has to be some wiring under the dash so when I had the car and radio on I put my hand under there, near the brake and throttle levers and fiddled with the wires to no avail. Now at night, it changes. The radio will sometimes only work with the brights on and at no other time unless they are off for an extended period of time which it will either function like a normal radio or revert back to only working with the throttle applied. Does anyone have any idea before I go verifying grounds and power sources?
Crazy problem, I know....very comical, but any help would be appreciated!

James

Why? Just because of a potentially simple prolblem? GTFO.

Anyways, to the OP... Sounds like a loose power wire or ground connection...

Factory radio or aftermarket unit? If aftermarket, how is it wired in? (harness cut & hardwired or harness adapter?)

No, it is 100% stock. I do not believe it has ever been played with and I would agree on the power or ground assumption, I was just wondering if it has happened to anyone else.

I would branch a new 18 gauge wire off the factory ground, crimp on a ring terminal, and ground it to the chassis.

Alright, I will give that a try. I think I might actually replace all of the noticeable factory ground onto the chassis and block as they look like they have had a hard life.
