have to figure out which of the 2 wires(before you cut the plug) is positive and which one is negitive.the center is usually the pos.then find a +12 and a ground and hook the 2 wires up.if you have a test light, you can test the wires to find a +12 volt that turns on and off with the key!oh you want a switch, then you have to find a wire that has 12 volts, run it to 1 side of switch, attach the cut wire of the inverter to the other terminal.take the other wire(the ground) and attach it to a bare metal spot or somewhere you know already has a ground.does this help?

Usually the inverters already come with a switch, unless you want to control it remotely, yes, install that extra switch. For factory or OE swtches you can try a junk yard. Dealer is too expensive unless you have an insider friend.

For the wiring, I'd suggest to wire the inverter directly to the main ignition harness under the steering column, which give you the best current delivery inside the vehicle (test light to accessories wire). Next stronger point is to go directly to the battery. For ground, like someone already said, go with a ground terminal directly to bare metal chasis. When installing your switch to interrupt the 12v side of the inverter, just tap into this circuit.

Good luck in your proyect.

With ur power inverter, make sure it is 300watts RMS or more, PS2 has alot of problem with anything less than that......if ur familair with relays, u can unscrew the switch off the inverter, soder two wires to the switch, one to each side....run one side to pin 87, and the other to pin 30 of ur relay...take pin 86 and ground it, and then pin 85 too ur system remote wire...this way when ur system is on, ur inverter is on........on the inverter, usually the blk wire with the rib on it, is the negative wire..double check though. A good ground is important, and 12 volts, can be taken off the ignition harness or the battery, make sure to fuse it.
