Immobilizer Bypass for Directed Remote Start
I am installing a remote start on my wife's 2003 Jeep Liberty. It does not have a gray key so I believe it does not have the chipped key. Do I need to buy the immobilizer bypass part number 555cw in order for the remote start feature to work the way it should?
is it a black key or the sentry key??? if it's black then you don't need anything for the r/s, but are you installing keyless or an alarm?? i think that vehicle has resistance locks

Nope, But you might have to use the factory disarm for the remote start to work correctly. I done one of these a couple years ago. I thing the car keeps trying to unlock or something. I just seen a picture of the car.

What do you mean by, "other bullshit that comes with it" ?
As mentioned, if car has OEM security you will have to disarm it for remote start...

I would also do key-less entry of the remote start control so you do not need to carry two remotes. 94

I mean that the system comes with 2 harnesses that have 6 wires each not including all the thicker wires that plug directly into the brain. I dont want anything except the remote start so to hookup anything for the locks, windows, etc. is a waste of time.
you will need to wire in the neutral safety switch, tach is recommended, but locks aren't important. are you going to be using the factory horn honk to trigger the remote start or carry a second remote??
well i only hooked up the following:
Pink + 30A high current 12v input
Blue + output to ignition circuit
White + output to accessory circuit
Pink + 30A high current 12v input
Yellow + output to starter circuit
Now even though the unit seems to work I have a few questions
1. Do I NEED to install the resistor and relay in the link that FCM posted? Its not currently installed but everything works fine.
2. I noticed that the unit has a 15 minute timer on the receiver so if the key is not put in after 15 min the car will shut off. I noticed that after I remotely started the truck and after I put the key in, the receiver clicked for about 15 min. Its almost like the receiver doesnt know to stop counting down once the key is installed. Could this be because I dont have the Green + output to ign/acc2 circuit hoked up?

Yep, you need that brake wire. Turning the key on does not shut off the remote start. If you had the tach it would read when the the over rev protection and shut down.
http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew...ngdiagrams.asp indicates 2nd ign. is needed.
Brake is needed, I would connect tach for the over-rev protection, [if unit has it] I would also connect hood pin for safety, [add one if needed].
I would also connect door locks so you only need to carry one remote
The OEM alarm connection, [link I posted] is only needed if you have an OEM alarm and use the remote start remote control for key-less entry. 94
BTW, what is the make and model of the remote start?

the range on this unit absolutely SUCKS, any suggestions? Antenna is mounted in top driver-side corner of windshield. Remotes have brand new batteries too. Im not impressed with this unit at all..
