Default Idea for security

People are getting their cars stolen in front of their house and they dont hear the alarm go off etc what not. And some people try to stay up etc and wait for the suspicious people to come back again.

what about a baby monitor where you get sound reception constantly and just turn the volume up really loud to hear the noise going on near your car. some of them have ranges of up to 450 feet..... for the paranoid car owners

just a thought

An alarm system with a two-way pager will accomplish the same thing. That is, you don't have to hear the siren to be alerted of an intrusion.

people have paging alarms that sometimes dont work or go off, or if they tow it.. etc.. at least with the monitor you can hear the noise going on nearby etc.. they are pretty sensitive some even have video etc...

this would be a good idea for those that wait up for the thieves so they dont have to be looking out the window the whole night.

I have a kid and me wife uses one. The problem I see is those things are sensitive so you will hear everything. Every time a car drives by, a garbage can is drug out to the street, the wind blows hard, ect. I dont think I could sleep with the extra noise. Also with baby monitors usually only the receiver end is battery powered and you would need the base in the car so you would need a ac/dc converter powered up to run it all night. Not knockin the idea but its somthing to think about.
