How to Wire up JL sub and amp
Hey everyone I just got a JL 250/1 amp. and 2 12" JL w3's. I was wondering if a 4 Gauge power wire big enough? Also just to reassure myself I can run 2 subs on that amp?

impedance is on the W2's is 4ohms so it depends if you wire them in parallel or series
Looks like your 250/1 is stable from 1.5-4 ohms, so i would wire them in parallel if i were you (2 ohm resulting impedance).
4 Guage should be plenty to power them, i run 4AWG for a 500/1 amp with no problems, make sure your ground is the same guage too
Im not sure if your 250 amp will handle peak power for two subs, power handling is 125W RMS each for the subs, x2=250W RMS power.
So to answer your question yes you can run two subs on that amp as long as their impedance is within 1.5-4 ohms but check your subs power rating to see if the amp can physically power them. You might be a bit underpowered with the two w2's and the 250/1 but you will be able to run them.
Heres a link to JL's spec sheet for the w2's to show you how to wire them in parallel if you don't know

Hope this helps!

Then you are way underpowered, the 250/1 does not have enough power to properly drive one 12W3v2, you need an amp that makes at least 1x600W RMS, into whatever load the VCs, [DVC 2, 4 or 6 ohm] are wired too.
With that said, and as you already know, the 250/1 will drive the two 12W3v2s pretty good, however it is not anywhere near what they are capable of.
What is the gain set at on the 250/1?
You must be careful not to overdrive the amp into constant clipping, it will damage, [burn] the subs VCs.

BTW, what kind of box are the subs in, what is the internal volume of the box?

I'm not sure what the gain is set to, but i'll check when I'm done my lecture.
Another question that might sound wierd, but I have leftover 9 Gauge power wire, can I use that as a speaker wire from the amp to the sub? I think it would look a little better =P.

you can but i wouldn't recommend it. Power wire and speaker wire are called two different things for a reason
. You may get a different SNR which will affect the quality of your signal going to the speaker.
