Not.

thrty8street I would use at least a 10ga, maybe even an 8ga, the Basslink does not need a huge amount of current but it is a long run to the back of the car, the longer the lead is the thicker it needs to be and it can't hurt to install heavier gauge then needed. 94

Thanks. 8ga it is then.

Is there anything I can use for the battery terminals on the battery? Is it really safe to be running (2) 8ga power cables with fuses side by side?

Another question:

-Does the thickness of the ground cable have to be the same as the power cable? (for the sub that is)

All I ever do is replace the stock clamp bolt with a longer one and add another nut so I have room for more then one ring terminal, I have also replaced the clamp with a "marine" type clamp and some times the "pimp my audio system" batt. clamps.

There is no problem running extra power cables off the batt. as long as both are fused properly as close to, [but within 18"] to the batt. clamp as possible. 94

If so is there a specific brand to get or place to buy them at? I am also planning on doing the big 3 later on prob in spring.

yes, the ground cable should be the same gauge as the power cable.

Yes, the ground should be the same gauge or thicker then the power cable.

The amp ground(s) should be as short as possible and both amps should be grounded to the same point if possible, as long as both leads are kept short.

I am no fan of "pimp my audio system" batt. terminals, or anything that uses set screws to hold cables in place, set screws do not make a very good connection. 94
